The Holy More
God is mystery. God is so vast that we will never fully understand God. Yet God wants to be in relationship with us more than anything. In this series, we will begin by considering the magnitude and mystery of God and then move into the ways in which God relates to us through different aspects of God’s being. Join us for a worship series that explores just some of the many facets of God and how they relate to us.
Note: This series has a companion series in Spanish - Dios es Más: Descubriendo la Multiformidad de Dios. The companion series was developed independently and then parts of it were translated as a gift to our English speaking users. Find translated material with The Holy More series components. Learn about how the two series were developed here.
Week 1: God is
John 1:1-4, Acts 17:28
God always was; God is and always will be. God is eternal.
Week 2: God is Creator of All
Genesis 1:27, 31a, Psalm 19:1-6
God saw everything that God had made and, indeed, it was very good.
Week 3: God is Seeker
Psalm 139:7-14 (15-18; 23-24)
God is the One who seeks us before we ever think to seek God. There is no place we can go—geographically, emotionally, or spiritually—where God is not already present, guiding and holding us in love.
Week 4: God is Sender
Isaiah 6:1-8, John 20:19-22
God not only seeks and finds us; God sends us. Having encountered God’s presence and peace, we are sent into the world as bearers of God’s love, peace, and reconciliation through the power of the Holy Spirit.
